Notes

DKNY launched 1989 as Donna Karan's diffusion line; LVMH owned it 2001-2016, then sold Donna Karan International to G-III for $650m. G-III is primarily a wholesaler/licensee, which drives heavy off-price flow; many DKNY categories (watches, fragrance, footwear, bags) are produced by licensees.

A second research pass found

  • Owner: G-III Apparel Group
  • Kind of name: Mainline brand

G-III bought Donna Karan International from LVMH in Dec 2016 and makes DKNY itself (some categories licensed); AWWG, in which G-III holds 18.7%, is its agent in Spain and Portugal. Heavy TK Maxx presence.
